so the title states everything, basically, when i boot the computer or log on, when i dxdiag, on directdraw acceleration and AGP Texture acceleration states its enabled.

a couple games from warcraft 3 playing a game called DOTA, when i alt+tab a couple times to, firefox, or music player then back to warcraft 3, it works perfectly for lets say. maybe 3-4 games then when i alt+tab sometimes, and alt+tab back to warcraft 3, it just stays a blank black screen but doesnt crack, just the game does.

then i go back to dxdiag, it now states that directdraw acceleration and AGP Texture acceleration is now Not Available.

i dont understand, i never had this problem with XP. please someone help or point me to the right direction. ive been at it since 2am this morning and now its almost 11am. been searching everywhere and no luck

please help... thanks in advance!

as for drivers being up to date, i believe so

version 8.17.12.9573 and date 2/09/2012

i forgot to mention that after it tells me thats its not available, (even thought when i started the computer up and it said it was enabled) i can log off then log back in without shutting the computer down and it puts it back to enabled. i dont get it... im getting so frustrated!

thanks for the quick reply btw! :D

Maybe you can keep the DxDiag window up during gaming to narrow down the time frame when it occurs. Often, applications and games are allowed to enable/disable video card settings based on their needs if they're set to do so in the video card settings.

thats a great idea, ill try that right now. but usually it just says not available instead of enabled. and for some reason thats when i alt+tab to something and when i try to go back to the game, its just a black screen but not frozen, cause i can hear everything else.. kinda weird

ok, so i did that, and i tried to see by a set time or basically try to make a pattern of when it occurs. no luck. it just does it randomly. this is frustrating. it just did it right now. now i have log off then log back in. it doesnt sound like a big deal but im not a big fan of bugs :P (who is?) anyways, anymore ideas?

Have you tried reverting to a previous graphics or directx driver to see if that's the issue?
