Hi all,
I have created a universal Windows 7 Pro 64-bit image. There are zero issues when using this image apart from one. When I add it to the domain, it seems to set the NLA service (Network Location Awareness) to Disabled when it was originally set to automatic. Now, I can set it back to Automatic, but it's a real pain and I have been searching far and wide for a fix. Does anyone know why this would happen? As far as I can tell it doesnt happen all the time, but most of the time when I add a PC to the domain. From what I can tell, it isnt part of the group policy, as non-imaged win 7 pro 64-bit PCs do not have this issue.
Is there some way I can prevent this from happening? I'd be grateful for any help anyone might offer.
Thanks,
Seanboy

From what I read about this problem may have to do with one of the Windows updates and that resetting winsock is supposed to fix it. To reset winsock just follow the procedure below.

1. Click start, type cmd in the Start Search box, right-click cmd.exe, click Run as administrator, and then press Continue.

2. Type netsh winsock reset at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

Note If the command is typed incorrectly, you will receive an error message. Type the command again. When the command is completed successfully, a confirmation appears, followed by a new command prompt. Then, go to step 3.

3. Type exit, and then press ENTER. You should be prompted to reboot, if not you should reboot and test.
