Dynamic partition

I am trying to reinstall windows 7 into my unallocated space on my hard drive through windows disk management partitioning. I got as far as i could successfully, according to DM, but then i get a message which could explain it better than I can. What can I do?

Do they use DM boot the installation DVD and let it. Create what it needs you could have a problem if you have too many primary partitions

Sorry, I don't understand your question.. please be more specific. I only have one partition with win 10.

Post a screenshot from disk management we need to know what sort of partition you have IE gpt mbr. If you install Windows 7 it won't understand tens booting so you will not be able to boot ten after without some work as it can destroy tens boot record. A simple solution is to use free virtual box and run it as a virtual PC

Here it is. I want you to know before i updated my win 10, i had dual OS set beautifully with Win 7 on the same sata hd. The updated win 10 screwed up my system, so i no longer have Win 7, so I want to reinstall it.

Sorry, I did a resize to the next higher choice and its a bit blurry. I am having problems with Win 10, so its a pain even to make a copy.

Use the snipping tool to save an image to your desktop in PNG or JPG format - then the paperclip to upload the image to the site

Fist of all, why do you want to convert the disks to dynamic?

We still can't see the disk management picture.
I don't think you need to reinstall Win 7. Use Easy BCD to add the win 7 option to the Win 10 boot loader.

I never said that I wanted to convert my disks to dynamic. If you read my OP, I was asking about it because of that message I received as I was on the verge of installing Win 7. I do not understand technically speaking on what your referring to about BCD.

- What do you have on disk 0 (G: and H: )
- Is disk 1 with C: the one you have Win 10?
- Where is / was win 7?

I have no idea...I never looked at Disk manager after both of them were installed. Since my first Win 10 update screwed up my mbr, I couldn't get to or find win 7. That is why I have a Macruim Reflect image copy of it and am trying to reinstall Win 7 and hope to find the right place on the HD to install it, until I got that message about warning me if I went ahead with the installation I would wind up with a Dynamic whatever, and that confused me, cause i don't understand that warning. if you read myfirst post you can see what message i received.

On disk one you have 124 gig primary partition that's empty delete that then move the recovery's to the right so you will then have 350 gig of free space to put seven on. We can't see full details but on mbr your limited to how many primary partitions you can which may be the problem gpt disk you can have 128 partition

Not well known but you can install and run Vista and later Operating System on a non primary partition so the 4 primary rule can be worked around. This is something I have done often in the days before the virtual OS was the preferred route. You do need to have the system boot partition on a primary partition and then adapt the boot record accordingly to point to the right drives

Your computer is a big mess and if you don't find out what you have on each partition you may end loosing everything.
As I wrote before, I think you don't need to reinstall win 7 as it is there in a partition.
As you booted from Win 10, I suppose that C: on disk 1 is Win 10.
I also suppose that G: has win 7

- With disk management, assign a letter to the 3 partitions of disk 1.
- Expand the all columns so we can read it, take another snapshot, edit post #11 and replace the image.

On Disk 1, that is where my win 10 is, don't you see the "C" drive? Where do you see that its empty?

Disk 1 you have 100 parition then c followed by 128.18gb unallocted ie free space then a 450 meg recovery next a 122.44gb primary which show 100% free then another 92 free space

Yes, it is a mess as i have made that point from the beginning, but obviously there is some confusion here from various responders. First, I have to hd's, Disk O is just for backup data, photos videos and etc. there are no OS there. The beginning of DISK 1 shows a hundred MB's, not gb's as someone here assumed, and yes it is a primary healthy partition. I do not know how it was designated...originally this HD had a perfect dual system, win 7 and 10. Sure win 7 is somewhere on this hd, but there is no way that i know of on how to get to it, so through no other choice I decided to reinstall it, into one of the remaining partitions. So far no one here as responded to my query on why i got that message about if i went forward it I would get a Dynamic whatever...so I stopped. I do not know what that means. I'm including an expanding Disk Management photo as requested. The ending is as it is shown, so the beginning is showing the 100 MB primary as i mentioned above. There is nothing more that has to be seen ...that is all of it.
