Dynamics CRM 2011 for Office 2010 Outlook

New resources available from Microsoft simplify the bridging of the company’s latest email client and the recently released customer relationship management solution.

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 for Microsoft Office Outlook can be grabbed via the Download Center.

As the download label implies, customers will be able to enjoy access to the same data right in their Outlook email client as in Dynamics CRM.

According to the software giant, Dynamics CRM 2011 for Office Outlook features support for Office 2010, Office 2007 and Office 2003.

Two files are provided to customers through the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 for Microsoft Office Outlook download, namely CRM2011-Client-ENU-amd64.exe and CRM2011-Client-ENU-i386.exe.

I am having constant issues with Outlook not displaying the "CRM" Ribbon at the top, I have tried going to the the registry and deleting the 2.4 key that did not help, please see this link The Outlook and CRM ribbons disappear from Microsoft Outlook when you use the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Client for Microsoft Office Outlook

  1. Exit Outlook.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{2DF8D04C-5BFA-101B-BDE5-00AA0044DE52}
  4. Right-click the 2.4 registry key, and then select Export. Save the export to your desktop to create a backup.
  5. Right-click the 2.4 key again, and then select delete.
  6. Start Outlook.
This did not work as the ribbon still was not showing.
