When I signed up for Hallmark Smilebox to send out Thanksgiving cards I was asked to import my accounts(:o). thinking Hallmark would be a secure site........Wrong!
It has been compromised. My friends are getting all kinds of trash.
Also noticed a MyWebSearch file(now deleted and removed) that after running Revo it showed numerous MyWebSearch adware trash.

I have the options to:
1. close my msn.com account and go somewhere else
2. just go somewhere else like gmail or wherever and set up a new account and just let the sleeping dog lie and remove my contact list.

What are your thoughts besides restoring to a previous date. Time for a change anyway.
Any and all help appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear you got hooked on that one, THW. Regardless of the "reputation" of the name, any site/service that wants to import contacts is looking to add the addresses to their spam address list.

Corrine,
Spent most of the day downloading addresses and contacts on thumb drive, contacting important sites for my address change and new passwords, then importing contacts to new site and sending out where to send my new e-mails to.

Then reviewing all mail I had saved in different files to see if it was important.

Now I have 2 sites which are set up for regular mail and junk with the other site for only for important stuff like banking info, monthly bills, and certain close relatives(which are few). So all in all in has been a busy but productive day.

So the lesson learned is that the site my be reputable but if they ask you to import your contacts...............DON'T! :o

Corrine or Jacee,
Here's what I received from hotmail today.
View attachment 120131

I couldn't sign in after trying 3 different passwords.

Question re: MS Outlook?
Do I go into accounts and delete the msn account and add the gmail or do I wait until all the straggler's (ones I forgotten to notify) and then delete the msn and add gmail?
Or make one the default but have both showing?
