ECHO echo sounds

Hi

My only poroblem with RC7100 revolves around the fact that through my speakers, when playing music, I get an "echo-ey" sound....I thought it was because I had placed my microphone too close to the speakers and/or had my microphone turned up too loud (no such problem when set up the same when I boot into Vista)...but no, adjusting volume setting and/or moving microphone to a different location has not solved this 'echo' in my music!

Bit strange, bit annoying, as I do listen as I work!

Device Manager shows no dreaded exclaimation marks, crosses or the like and all drivers are up to date.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Im just going to throw something in here. It might be as simple as an audio enhancement> I had a similar problem with a different sound chipset and the newer driver had adjust for room acoustics default checked made it sound weird and till I found it made my life miserable.

I think (THINK) I have found the 'problem', When I right-click on the speaker icon on the system tray and launch the audio control, I notice I have an icon for speaker volume for all applications and all of the open Internet Explorer tabs. ALL are working and all were set to HIGH volume.

By closing down a couple (especially IE8 tabs) the distortion/echo disappeared....temporarily.

I say temporarily as, if I was watching for example a youtube video with sound, adjusted the sound in the system tray speaker audio control BUT then moved away from IE as the main window (say I moved onto MS Word for example), them went BACK to watch the video thru IE8, NO sound was then present. I have to "re-enable" the sound via the same control.

This seems a bug of sorts?

Interested in others comments...

You should have a single instance of IE in the systray volume. This could be an issue in 7100, or your driver, or the mix of the two. I do not know.
