I'm trying to uninstall a program (GTA4/Grand Theft Auto game), but the setup for this game does not work on Windows 7.

To make the setup work we need to edit the compatibility for it.

It's the same problem to install the game, the same error "incompatible with %P". The solution to install it's the compatibility mode.

But I don't know how to change the compatibility to the uninstall setup. The setup.exe, I don't know where it is, when I click to uninstall the system always generate a setup.exe on a temp folder like:

C:\Users\SauloB\AppData\Local\Temp\{E5FDAAC7-1D94-43B7-BB89-F0762501AD15}\setup.exe

The {strings} always change. So I cannot edit the setup to open on compatibility mode.

Does anyone know how to change the compatibility for setups on the uninstall list?

Btw, there's no uninstall shortcut on the game start menu :(

Thanks.

Ok, found my own answer searching for setup files on my computer.

The original setup.exe from the game installation is stored on a hidden folder called:

"C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\"

There are some {strings} folders with install files (setup.exe and others) on that hidden folder. Each one is from a different program/game.

I executed one by one searching for the GTA4 setup.exe and found it on the
"{579BA58C-F33D-4970-9953-B94B43768AC3}" folder.

So, I changed the compatibility for XP SP2 and it worked :)

I will leave the thread to register how to change the compatibility mode on a uninstall setup.

Thank you guys.
