Solved Elders Scrolls Skyrim V Not Detecting Laptop GPU

Hi,

So I decided to play some skyrim on my alienware m14x r1 laptop but the game is only detecting my Intel HD Graphics, why is this?

I've erased the .ini files, made my NVidia gpu the default for everything, and no such luck.

My GPU is a Geforce GT 555M.

Thanks and if any more info is needed I'll gladly say it.

Also, my system specs listed are from my TOWER pc and not this laptop, thanks.

Hello logo.

I think you will need to right click on the desktop -> nvidia control panel -> 3D settings and there you should find an option to always use the nvidia gpu!

Thank you very much, but the laptop happened to have a few parts broken after I tried to open it up and clean the fan. It was a success but several parts broke so I just got a new laptop, but I'm having an issue with that as well.. Basically windows 7 cannot install on my new windows 10 laptop and I've made everything in the bios a legacy support. More info is below

I don't know if I'm allowed to link another thread here but it is in "Installation and setup" category.

Hi boris,

Just wanted to say that I also fixed the issue before. Sorry I didn't tell before.. I forgot. I see that the game says it is using intel HD however that's not the case because I went into MSI afterburner and my gpu was at 99%.
