It is a DPDT switch used to reverse polarity of motor. The wires are colour-coded, so make a note of the colours, and their location. There are videos on You Tube on how to wire up a car window switch, here is one I found How to wire an aftermarket window switch | Youtube . Video contains explanation of wire colours, and voltages.
Circuit diagram should help. B & E should be opposite. Also C and D should be opposite. Which is what you have done. That just leaves A & F. F can connect to the lamp, which you have done, so A should connect to the last remaining terminal. So, logically I would agree with your new wiring layout.
