email contact list gone. Help!

Aplogies if this has been posted before but I can't find it.
I did a new install to windows 7 without too many problems but I am having problems with my email contacts list. I am using firefox to access my email but what used to happen is when I used to put the first letter or two of the address it would give me a drop down list to choose from. This now doesn't happen and I have to go into my address book which is as pain because the addresses aren't in alphabetical order. I have also lost my skins. About 3 weeks ago both of these things came back but only for a couple of hours and had disappeared when I next used my computer (very strange but true)
Can anyone offer any help with this annoying problem?

Hello Kate,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Since you are using Firefox to access you mail, it may be that you need to clear the temporary or cached files. See if things straighten out then.

Can ypou please tell me how I do that.
I have also found that when I send photos via email it doesn't attach them but puts them in the bodyof the email. Shouldn't I be able to send them as an attachment, I used to do beforem windows 7.

I don't have FF here at the moment, and don't remember exactly, but somewhere under settings/preferences is a place to clear temp files. As far as having the photos as attachments goes, that must be a setting in the mail settings. Don't know which one your using and I don't use web mail so can't help you much there.

Hi I have done that but nothing happened. Not sure what to do next. It is just annoying having to go into my contacts every time I want to send an email.
