Email, powerpoint work

Hi today i opened up my email client, windows mail on my desktop and got a powerpoint off there to continue, it only gaveme the option to open the powerpoin, so i opened it and started to do work on it, when i saved it it said converting and all of that and seemed to of saved.

Well now my issue is im not sure where it saved, ive used the search bar and all that but cant find it. When i saved it it didn give me the option to save it in a location or change the filename etc so im wondering would it be in recent files or areas etc?

Any help would be highley appriciated

Paul, if you open up Powerpoint would you not see the amended saved file in the top loft side of powerpoint under recent files?

When you opened the email attachment, you were provided the opportunity to open the attachment or to save it to disk. You describe that you chose to open it.

You modified the contents of the "file".

When you closed it, PPoint asked to save it. Perhaps you did choose to save it.

When you closed the email, you were advised that the contents had changed, and asked if you wanted to save them. If you said No, the changes were lost to the embedded copy. If you said Yes, the changes were saved, in the embedded copy.

If you said No to the final save question, your best bet is to search your temp folders for *.ppt.

I cannot locate a test copy. So, look at the email attachment to see if your changes are there. If yes, file save as to a known location, like desktop or documents.

Hi thanks for all of your help, in the end i just re did the presentation quicker than looking everwhere.

I did look in my temp folders and no it wasent losted in my recent files in powerpoint i dont think it saved correctly all it said was converting nothing about saving.

Let the lesson be:

Email is an effective transport system. By whatever means, save the attached file to a local disk. If necessary, route the file to another location by attaching the modified local copy in a new email.
