When trying to send a web page by pulling down the file menu and selecting send page by email, the selection is grayed out. Where is the fix for this? Would some kind soul check and verify that this is a universal problem, as opposed to a problem with my machine. Just bring up a website and then pull down the file menu and go to send and hit the "Page by email" button. Many thanks. Or just check out whether the link is grayed out and reply to this message.

Hi Actxiom!

A bit more information from you if you don't mind.;)

I presume you are trying to send mail directly from your browser.

What browser are you using?
Which email client are you using?
Are you trying to mail the link or the entire page?

If you can give us this info we can see if there is a solution to your problem.:)

If I'm not mistaken, Windows Live Mail has to be your default e-mail handler for this option to work.

derekimo, I use, amongst others, GMail and that works just fine.:)

I think it is more probable that actxiom needs to set a default email client in his browser settings.

thanks for the replies V3xar and cato. Actually I have never tried this before on any system, but my wife and a friend both were trying to figure out why the link was not working. One of you replied suggesting that window live mail has to be the default email handler. I wouldn't doubt that. We use comcast.net for sending email. Both of us still use Windows XP on Dell and IBM desktop computers. This windows 7 and explorer 8 is a new animal to us on a laptop. The laptop is an MSI A6000 with Intel duo core processors and tons of memory. Thanks again for the replies. I will be checking back in tomorrow. As I understand it, one can be viewing a web page and voila, can send the sucker out by email. I assume it arrives and opens immediately. I will have to try that on my old machine tomorrow.

I use comcast.net too. If you go with Windows Live Mail it will sync with your comcast.net email when you set it up.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.:)
