.eml extentions

Hello

Before doing a clean install from vista to windows 7 I saved all the emails from an email program I was using at the time called "essentialpim" to an external HD.

Now I have also installed office professional and I am using outlook. The problem is , how on earth do I import my emails which have a .EML extention into outlook ?

any ideas anyone ?

Hi dwarf , thanks ..but it didn't work. I downloaded the zip file and tried to install . A window opened saying "the expected version of outlook was not found" . So it seems to me that the version i have already has this fix installed. So I must be doing something else wrong . ... its probably something really simple but i have tried so much already without success

ahhhrrrr :shock:... now when I try to lauch outlook a window pops up saying "unable to open outlook" what should I do ? I think that this is due to the hot fix that would not install . Should I set it back to a restore point ?

Do you actually need these old emails in Outlook, or do you simply want to be able to read them?

I looked at the link .. do I enter this > "outlook /resetnavpane" intothe cmd prompt ? or where do i enter this ?

it would be ideal .....some of them yes . They are stored in such a way that I cannot see what they contain unless I open each one with wordpad

I think we're going to kick ourselves. The solution is quite simple. Open Outlook and select the Drafts tab. Select your .eml files and drag them as shown below.
