Empty drive partitions? How to add more drives?

I opened Computer Management and clicked on disk management, and I have a few questions.

I have a few empty partitions, I want to be able to use one or two of them. Mainly the second and third one, or combine them both together.

When i rightclick the second or third i get this

When i rightclick the first, i just only get "help"

How can i either combine the second and third partitions to be 38.91 gb (or separate partitions) and assign a drive letter to it, such as Q:

Also, would this break my system or do damage to my harddrive?

Edit: I want to be able to have another drive so i can store stuff like pictures, to keep my stuff more organised.

Hello David, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Those partitions without drive letters on Disk 0 are for you Toshiba factory recovery. You do not want to mess with them. Doing so could leave you without a way to restore Windows back to factory conditions if needed.

If you like, you could use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to shrink the C: partition by how much you want for a new partition, and create a logical partition with a drive letter.

Well, I suppose you could add a 2nd 2.5" internal hard drive to use if the laptop let's you have two.

You have 470 GBs free on your C partition, you have nothing to worry about right now.
