Enable "View all processes" by default

Basically that... is there a way in which I can activate the full process view in task manager like in XP? I can do it by clicking on the button with the shield icon... but could be better to enable that as default as I use that feature more or less often (to see processes in W7 and seing how they behave)

Do you mean to have Task Manager open with Show processes from all users selected by default instead? If so, then this can help show you how to create a shortcut that will open like this for Task Manager.

In addition to Brink's excellent post above. There was a script written by Ramesh Srinivasan available for Vista (that also works on Win 7 in my test lab). It's on this Korean website, so i'll translate for you and post direct links.

To Install
1. Download the taskmagr-Elev.zip
2. Extract the files
3. If your OS drive is not C:, then you will need to open the taskmgr-elev.reg file with notepad and change C:\\ to your drive e.g. D:\\ (you could problably also make it %systemroot%)
4. Drop the three files from the zip into your windows folder (e.g. C:\windows)
5. Double click on the taskmgr.reg to install.
6. Open your system32 folder (e.g. C:\windows\system32)
7. Copy taskmgr.exe
8. Paste it back into the system32 folder and rename it as taskmgr2.exe
9. Right click on the taskbar and select 'Start Task Manager', it will open showing processes from all users.

To remove
1. Double click on the undo.reg file
2. Remove the three files and the delete the copy of taskmgr2.exe.
