enabling windows desktop

How do you enable your windows desktop, mine is disabled and every blog that I googled is different

windows 7 ultimate x64
Do you mean the Desktop Windows Session manager?

1. Click the start orb
2. Type Services.msc
3. Scroll to Desktop Window Manager Session Manager
4. Right-click it>Properties>set start up type to automatic, click start.
