Enormous speed variance

On my Asus Transformer tablet I was making a Macrium image to a 32GB MicoSD card. During the run I observed transfer speeds ranging from 90Mb/sec to 210Mb/sec. That is more than 100% speed variance. I have no clue why that is so - do you ?

What kind of files were being transferred? For example documents and others will transfer at a faster pace vs videos etc.

So maybe when the image was being made it was on the documents section and then started transferring videos.

My guess anyways...

It was a system image. There really are no documents on the system yet - apart from a dozen pictures. I just wanted to have this first image after the initial installation, all updates, installation of Office and a few programs.

Doing it on the MicroSD card is handy because that always travels with the tablet. And for the recovery program, I have a stick. I might create an RE for the recovery program but I am not sure whether I like that extra step with each boot.

I've noticed big transfer speed differences too, but I have no idea why. In my experience it run very fast in the beginning and drops from there. I have thought maybe it's due to a buffer or cache being filled and emptied.

In my case it was just the other way around. First slow at abour 90Mb/sec. Then it went up to 210Mb/sec and finally it settled around 130Mb/sec. Very peculiar.
