Hi,

I have a copy of W7 Enterprise edition that I got from work. I was told that I could use a key from Home, Pro, or Ultimate, and the Enterprise would just dumb down to that edition's features. So is this correct? Would there be any other problems?

Thanks,

KI

Enterprise uses Volume Licensing which is different than retail or OEM licenses.

You can try it, but I doubt that it will work.

What you can also try is changing the version using this popular workaround: Upgrade the Windows 7 RC to any retail version Icrontic Tech

Modify the registry listing as shown to the version you have the license for, and the installer will be tricked into thinking it is doing a repair install - which in Win7 is an Upgrade over itself.

Many have changed between versions in Win7 using this workaround. Otherwise MS wants you to buy Anytime Upgrade, or do a clean install with your new version.
