I know the printer works on other laptop.
On my laptop with windows 7 I plug in the usb and it doesn't recognise the printer.
Tried to download drivers and tried again....nothing! Rang Epson who told me to ring Currys...rang Currys and, you've guessed it...ring Epson!
Do not plug in the printer. If the printer is plugged in, unplug it.
Download the correct driver, or driver package, for your printer and operating system
Run the driver install. Do not plug in the printer until prompted by the driver install.
If you did the above and were prompted to plug in the printer and it was not recognized, then you may have to physically turn the printer power on, or try a different USB port to plug into. You should also check to see if other USB devices are recognized: USB stick, external drive, etc.
