Equation Editor Problem in Office 2007 and 2010

Recently, the text in the math box/equation box doesn't italicize automatically anymore. Where do I find the setting that controls this?

It's in the Style menu. Click on style on EQ editor menu then Define . There are several styles
in the Define Styles dialog. The one that should be italics is "Variable".

Thanks for your help. But I am not sure what menu you are referring to. Could you kindly post a screen shot of the button that I have to click to access that menu.

I cannot find anything that says Equations in all the Styles menu and options and I can't find anything that says Styles in all the Equations menu and options.
