Erratic startup success, fan spins but nothing on screen

Okay, I followed your steps and made sure every update was installed except for the Microsoft Bing Desktop. It never asked me to install any language packs though, so I didn't worry about those. I encountered error codes for three failed optional updates; I googled the codes and it looked like they were the result of Windows trying to update a driver that was already up-to-date. I used Device Manager to manually check the three drivers instead and made sure they were installed correctly.

I rebooted after every update and kept going through the process until Windows Update gave me the "Windows is up to date" message twice in a row. Then I validated Windows 7, and rebooted again, and checked that Windows Update was still showing it was up to date.

Attached is the file generated by the PowerShell script after this was done.

So far it's running great. I'm still getting an error message on bootup about the Express Gate Installation being incomplete. I'm guessing that's an issue with the mother board itself.

I'm confused now though... when you first had me run the PowerShell script and I posted the file, you asked me why I had edited it. I said I hadn't edited anything, and you said that if that was the case, it was obvious that my system was very corrupt and needed a clean installation of Windows 7. So I did the clean install, updated everything, and ran the PowerShell script again, but the results look exactly the same to me as they did before, but you didn't comment on it this time. Did I misunderstand what you meant about editing something?

What about the file editing/corrupt system question? That still has me confused, I feel like I totally missed something in all of this. What exactly was it that you saw in my postings that told you my system was corrupt and needed a clean install?

karlsnooks? The file from the PowerShell script still looks the same as it did the first time when you told me it was indicating a corrupt system. All that's changed is the computer name, which I changed on the reinstall. I need an answer on this! Is my system still corrupt? And what is it about the file that indicated this?

My problems from the first post are back again. Everything ran fine for a few days, but now it's back to the way it was. Most of the time it boots fine and works fine, but occasionally I just get the whirring fan. Not sure how to proceed.
