I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit on one our computers that had XP 32 bit. I'm doing a clean install and have already formatted and partitioned the hard drive. The problem I'm having is that now it won't let me install windows 7. When you highlight the system partition it shows and error, which states, "Windows is unable to install to the selected location, Error: 0x80300001" I thought I might need a SATA driver for the hard drive but I haven't been able to locate the right one if thats the problem. Here are the specs...

Okay, I did finally get the darn thing to load...sorta... It rebooted fine the first 2 times during installation, but the 3rd time it tried to reboot and I get nothing, just a black screen. I tried booting into safe mode, and i get the message "Setup is preparing your computer for first use" but of course it cannot continue to install in safe mode so it makes me reboot and gives me the message "Setup will continue after restarting windows" Any ideas for this issue? Thanks by the way!

Yes I did, I got past the screen that was giving me the 0x80300001 error. I got the installation started, and it seems fine up until the third time rebooting during installation, when the screen goes black upon restarting and will not come back on.

Is there any chance you can delete all of the partitions on the drive using a tool like gparted, then boot up the 7 DVD, choose custom install, then drive options (advanced), and create the partitions you want?

including your system recovery partition?, I wouldn't recommend that. $300 to buy a new OS.
