Solved Error 0x80300024 on Windows 7 Install

Some time back I switched on AHCI in my BIOS and in Windows and everything worked OK.
Recently I decided to do a re-install and received 0x80300024 error.
Thinking this might be because of a lack of a driver on the install disc I switched back to IDE in the BIOS but still receive 0x80300024 error.

I have two Seagate SATA HDDs. A 1TB and a 2TB.
Trying to install to a 100GB partition on the 1TB drive.

Would welcome any info. Thanks in advance.

Unplugged the 2TB drive.

ok just for every one when getting any install error , regardless of the error message on a windows 7 or 8 install the install wants to create a system partition, for windows 7 its a 100 mb partion, for windows 8 its a 350 mb partition unfortunatly microsoft was its head stuck up so far it appears it has 2 heads...why cause the install searches for a system partition on all drives and if it finds one it does not create one on the new drive you are trying to install win 7 on or win 8 on and if you have win 7 32 bit installed on one drive and you try to install win 7 x64 on an other drive,,,in its search it finds a 32 bit win 7 system partition it will terminate the install cause the partition is incompatable then it terminates the install if you have a win 7 x64 install and you are installing win 7 x64 on an other again it will not create a system partition on the new drive and it will use the other system partition... hence the need to unplug all hdd's accept the one you are instlling win 7 or win 8 on . phericals dont matter only hdd's matter.. so when installing win 7 or win 8 allways un plug all hdd.s but the one you are installing on...also if dual booting allways boot the drive with the highest os installed then edit your bcd file with a bcd editor...using/booting a smaller os will cause boot failure with error messages...fyi...i.e. windows 8 x64 is higher than win 8 x86 win 8 x64 is higher than win 7...etc... unpluging hdd's solves a lot of problems...... Well....yes. If you have other OS HD's plugged in then the installer also is configuring a Dual Boot. :geek:
