Hey guys I'm new here xD, I'm currenty not using my other computer which has windows 7 on it. I'm not on it because none of my files are starting up...
I rebooted it several times and it is still not working. Each time a file tries to open " The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click Ok to close this application. Anybody knows how to fix this problem. Even my anti-virus ain't opening:cry:. Also this is a application error.

Thanks in advance guys/girls =).

P.S. I'm kinda young so I might not understand some words xD.

I know that it said XP but it was general advice. I felt that it may give a lead. I am still looking.

Hi, onelastpinoy.

It would help to know more about your Windows 7 installation. Is it an upgrade or a new computer, 32-bit or 64-bit? Have you installed any new hardware on the computer?

If it is an upgrade, did you run the Upgrade Advisor first? Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows

I agree with Richc46. Definitely do not use a registry cleaner!

Can you boot your Win 7 computer in the safe mode and run anything? Or do you get the same errors?

Hello =). Okay so it is a new computer that I bought about a 2-3-4 months ago (sorry very bad memory) I really don't know if it's 32-bit or 64-bit. I also don't want to on my computer with Win 7 on it cause my Anti-virus doesn't start up. And no I haven't upgraded it yet. I don't know how the problem started actually. My mom and dad were just using the computer and today I tried using it but all of my programs (mostly .exe programs) are not opening.

Edit:
Sorry for noobish question but how do you boot it in safe mode xD????

Ah, that helps. Since it is exe's, let's find out if it is a malware problem. Please do the following:

Please download rkill from one of the following links and save to your Desktop:

One, Two,Three or Four

  • Double-click rkill to run.
  • A command window will open then disappear upon completion, this is normal.
  • Please leave rkill on the Desktop until otherwise advised.
  • Do NOT restart your computer after running rkill as the malware program(s) will start again.

Notes:

If you you receive security warnings about rkill, please ignore and allow the download to continue.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, be sure Quick scan is selected, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, EXCEPT items in System Restore as shown in this sample:
    MBAM_SR.png
  • Click Remove Selected.
Edit Note: Do the above first. However to restart your computer in SafeMode do the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

That was why I asked about the safe mode. I was wondering if you could open anything in the Safe Mode with Networking.

OHH okay. =) I'll try that now and see if it works.

Edit: Still has the same error.

You'll probably need to download RKill from the computer you are on and transport it via USB or other media to the infected computer, which means you need revised instructions.

After you download RKill, go to the Windows 7 computer and restart:

Select Safe Mode with Networking. (To do this, turn your computer off and then back on and immediately when you see anything on the screen, start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter on your keyboard. Windows will now boot into safe mode with networking and prompt you to login as a user.)

Let's also check IE. Please start Internet Explorer, and when the program is open, do the following:
-- click on the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.
-- click on the Connections
-- click on the Lan Settings button tab
-- under the Proxy Server section, please uncheck the checkbox labeled "Use a proxy server for your LAN"
-- press the OK button to close this screen. Then press the OK button to close the Internet Options screen.

Next, transfer RKill to the desktop and run it as instructed. Then continue with Malwarebytes instructions from above.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks Corrine but it still has the 0xc0000005 error

Let's take another stab and see if this works. You'll need to transport it as well.

Please download exeHelper to your desktop.

  • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
  • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
  • Post the contents of exehelperlog.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com, and should open at the end of the scan)

Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Wow... Now it says "Windows cannot find 'E:\exeHelper.com'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again'. I also have tried this several times... And still the same error.

Hello,

I have seen 0xc0000005 exceptions in BSOD occur because the 3rd party firewall blocks local NETBIOS ports used by system services. What 3rd Firewall are you using ??
