My friend installed Windows 7 (from internet) on my Compaq C700 (which had Windows Vista 32)
I don't know if he used windows 7 32 or 64...
Now I'm receiving an error message :0xc00000e9
Since I don't have the recovery/repair CD I will buy one but before doing it
I want to know if I have to buy the recovery/repair CD for Windows 7 or Vista?

I tried to repair it using F11-F10-F8 but it didn't work.

Did you buy the Windows 7 disk that was installed or was it your friend who used his to install on your PC? If you did not buy the disk, you have to buy a Windows 7 Upgrade disk in order to be able to input the Product Key and activate your Win 7. You don't list your specs so we don't know if your PC can accept 64 bit. Fill in your specs COMPLETELY, find out if 32 bit or 64 bit was installed and tell us if you purchased the Win 7 disc or it was your friends disc.

If you don't want to buy Win7 to activate it then I'd reinstall Vista using Vista ISO download and following these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If you want to buy Win7 then boot the DVD to reinstall to C. If it fails let us know at which step in Clean Install Windows 7 and the exact error message in full.

You can also see if the Recovery partition will reinstall Vista by tapping the key given on first boot screen for Factory Recovery, usually F10.
