Hello to all:
I recently (Jan 9th) took my laptop Gateway NX860xl and did a clean install with 7 Ultimate. I did the Windows Adviser and the computer was more than capable of 7. I did so after I gave my wife a new laptop with 7 pro on it for Christmas. I liked it and got green with envy.
Now the problem I have is my laptop goes with me from home to work on a daily basis. I had no issue while using XP pro getting on line via wired Ethernet or wireless anywhere. Now I can only get on line at home (both wired and wireless) When I connect at work using a wired connection I get error 651. I have no access to wireless at work but I can see many networks are available with proper authority. I borrowed my wife's computer for comparison and hers had no issues getting on line wired or wireless at home or my work. All the settings seem (look) the same laptop to laptop and I can find no issues (dreaded exclamation point) in Device manager.
I have searched the net for a solution but seem to go in circles. i have tried some of the solutions with no luck. Is there a permanent fix for this or does someone have a real solution. i would greatly appreciate anyone's help with this.
