Error 8024402F when trying to update

I'm using Windows 7 RC. I did not upgrade it was a clean install.

Whenever I try to update my computer via Windows Update, it gives me the error code in the title of this thread. This happened *before* I even installed anti-virus, and after as well.

My internet connection is working flawlessly via cable, not wireless. I've tried about 5 or 6 times over a period of 6 or 7 hours.

OK fixed it, I think. The problem was I had Active X disabled on my router. I enabled it and then it worked (I also did the steps detailed in that thread but they didn't seem to work). I'm going to disable it again and re-enable whenever I want to update. Don't trust Active X.

Must be a new router. I have no such options on my router. Glad you got it fixed and sorry that thread didn't help ya out. Maybe it will help someone else.
