I tried to install Windows Movie Maker and photo gallery 2012 this morning. Movie Maker 2012 did not work (I still don't know why), but since Windows Live Essentials 2011 was in my updates, I uninstalled 2012 moviemaker and photo gallery and tried to update with 2011.

Now it says that I have an earlier version of Windows Essentials installed, Error 80280007, and i have to uninstall those programs.

I can't find where those "newer" programs are on my computer. I uninstalled them from the programs list and deleted all the cache folders out of my App Data. I've restarted my computer, but nothing works. It still gives me the same error message.

what's going on?

Hmm - Windows Live Essentials are listed in the Programs&Features list.

If there's nothing there, then
Pleasefollow the WindowsUpdate Posting Instructions and post the requested data - which should give us some idea of what the problem may be.
