I changed my user profile path to D: drive. Now Aero UI is strange, can't change background, window title is white and borders is somehow different, also seems everything links to system32\config\userprofile istead of D:\Users\Spajky, where I put it? what to do?

Hi spajky welcome to SevenForums

Do you get this error message

C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.

Alright I'll carry on from the OP as I had the same problem. The ProfileImagPath said C:\Users\Temp
So I changed that to where my file are, I.E. C:\Users\Rosemary, restarted, and had the same problem again!

Went back into regedit just to check if it had changed back to the Temp location, which it hadnt. *goodnews, badnews*

But then I discovered a .bak entry which was a complete backup of my original setup I guess, so I removed the .bak and made it the original one that windows would use, and that seemed to do the trick.

The only thing that never came back was my desktop background and my screensaver (minor issues)

Thank you to VistaKing for the directions to the right registry entry :)
