Hi all, My name is Adrian I'm currently in Iraq right now and my system crashed. I was using skype to talk to my wife and the video was acting up. I restarted my laptop and when it came up it was a black screen with a white cursor in the corner. I cannot get anything but the BIOS information. I had a friend with Windows 7 64 bit (what i have) burn me a recovery disk. I popped it in and tried to restore to a previous point. I got an error:
An unspecified error occurred during system restore. (0x800700b7)
Tried a different point and still got the same thing. I went from most recent to the restore points from a couple of months back. All came up the same.
Then i got:
an unspecified error occurred during system Restore. (0x8000ffff).
I can get to the System Recovery Options screen and that's about it. When it reboots it goes to "boot from cd/dvd press any key.....once it gets to the 5th period i can't do anything.
My wife is sending the windows 64 disk from home and should be here soon. My question is:
I there any way to save my computer the way it is? Recovery disk, main disk or will i have to do a full restore? Thank you in advance for any help.
Adrian

The weird thing is that in the system Recovery screen it asks me to load drivers. I clicked on it and could see all the stuff on my hard drive. All the files, everything. It's just not booting up.
