Error code 10 on Storage controller

My DVD/CD stopped working and I got an error Code 39. I found a suspect driver file (stld.sys) and removed from my drivers file, but now I keep getting an error code 10 on the storage controller. The driver won't update, I tried everything. Also - my DVD/CD is only reading music CD's. Anything else, it just gets stuck and won't read any DVD/data disk I put in.
Any ideas?

Try uninstalling the DVD in Device manager, than reboot PC.
