Hello,

I am having some issues with a particular online game. They locked my thread stating that the errors I get while playing their game, and only their game have nothing to do with their game.

So I am stuck trying to figure this out on my own, I am hoping you fine folks can help me out in this regard.

I am attaching a saved copy of my event log that shows the errors I get, which for quick reference are the following:

- Every single error has to do with one of those patches, here is a full list:

It's the only issue I have currently with my machine, and only while playing this particular game.

Sounds like your redistributables are not all installed:

• Re-install or install the following:
  
  Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86)
  Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x64)
  Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86)
  Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x64)
  Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86)
  Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x64)​

Once the above are installed, install all their updates through Windows Update.

I do have have a few:

and

like 3 of each with different extensions, none, cat and manifest


P.s. what exactly are those files?

Yes, all updates have been installed as you suggested.

There are some optional updates, they all seem to be for 4, the #'s are:


KB2468871
KB2533523
KB2600217

I haven't installed those, as they are optional and figured if I needed them, they'd be marked as important.

I currently have zero important updates left to install, and about 25 optionals (including the above 3).

The good news is: I do not have those folders on my desktop either. I have them on my laptop, but not on my desktop. I will go about installing the redistributables as I have not yet gotten to that step in my clean install of Windows 7. I'll let you know what installs those directories.

Alright, I did not end up finding that directory after installing VC++2005R x86 or x64. I also did not get it with the service pack. Here is what I suggest: create a restore point and then copy (do not move or rename it, but copy it) x86_microsoft.vc80.mfc_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_cbf5e994470a1a8f to x86_microsoft.vc80.mfc_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.4053_none_cbf21254470d8752 and see if it resolves the problem.

I don't have that file to copy, at least it doesn't show up when I try to paste: cbf5e994470a1a8f into ctrl+f in that folder.

Upload the vc80mfc.txt file found in C:\Users\Public\Documents\

Looks like we got it fixed up.

I think what did the trick was I went back after doing some more reading and redid the 2005 c++ redist's (both 86 and 64) and made sure they removed the previous installations first.

Then I had the files showing up that you asked I search for.

I guess when I did the install the previous time, it didn't remove / install and simply tried to 'repair' and didn't install that particular file.

In any case, it's working now and all is well.
