Hey guys, I just got my sony vaio vgn ar670 back from sending it out to them to repair the webcam cable and a broken hinge. I've been using it for about 5 days now, and the webcam has been working GREAT, it's just much clearer, and it no longer disconnects randomly. This was until today, while skyping, the webcam suddenly turned off and wouldn't work. It said I didn't have a webcam connected. It was no longer listed under devices and printer either. Now the webcam is built in, so I can't touch it. Under the USB port section on device manager, something says unknown device, and I know for a fact that it is the webcam. It said this, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" under device status. It also says that this is the location of the device: Port_#0002.Hub_#0001.

When I did a clean install of windows 7 64 bit from vista 32 bit, I had problems identifying the webcam. I then installed a program called drivermax, and it identified and installed the correct driver for the webcam automatically. I could usually use it to detect unkown hardware, but for some reason, it won't work this time around.

Any ideas would be helpful. I am also not very good at all with computers so try and keep the answers as basic as possible. Thanks guys, Cam

I just finished installing Tune Up Utilities 2010 Trial version. A few minutes after the install I get an error code 43 for Universal Serial Bus Controller in Device manager, Unknown Device, Port 2 Hub 8. I uninstalled the program but the problem still exists. (I downloaded the program) No USB device was used except for the usual ones I have been using all the time since I installed Windows 7. Can anyone help me locate Port 2 Hub 8 ??? Please. The only USB devices I am using are a USB mouse & Keyboard, 2 USB printers, 1 Flatbed Scanner and a USB hub which has nothing hooked up to it. Only the mouse and keyboard were active at the time of the download. I unplugged the USB hub but the error code still exists.
