Error code for SP3 2007 Office

I thought I had put a thread in re this error in the pic but perhaps not.

I have had Microsoft suggest four different "fixes" none of which work and this thing is pestering me to install SP3 for Office 2007 Home & Student and frankly I am getting pretty irritated at downloading thinking a subsequent updates might have unblocked it but no it is still there.

Any ideas please?

Yeah Noel done that one already and plus those other "fixes" that the Microsoft site suggested it just will not download and install - more importantly - vie a straight update or saving it and then installing.

Method 2: Temporarily disable the security software installed on the computer and then try to install the update.

To be honest I don't know what to do uninstall the wretched software and get a freebie as I don't use it that much as long as my already made up docs transfer and can be opened in basically the same format.
The only thing stopping me do that right away is that I paid for thee M$ stuff and begrudge having to do that.
I have the SP3 saved in downloads just in case something comes up but I can only hold my breath for so long :sarc:

You could always uninstall Oddice completely, run the cleanup tool, and then reinstall it - and update that.
I take it that other updates are being propery installed?~

Yeah Noel that sounds a good option and see what happen. The other updates are no problem.

Thanks mate I'll do that as it couldn't be any more irritating than having that darn reminder all the time.

Nope Noel the thing is still sitting there like a bad smell - I uninstalled it with Revo too and ran CC and checked reg entires for software remnants
So I don't know I'll just have to get back onto Microsoft again as it is getting ridiculous

Err no mate I just ran the Revo as it has always tended to pick up left over reg entries I'll do it from Control Panel then CC then checked in regedit for stuff manually.

I'll do it from Control Panel then, won't take long.

Well I did it from Control Panel and it uninstalled and then I reinatsalled it but didn't click go on line bit I just closed it.

Now SP3 has downloaded and installed so was my mistake going online with that last bit of the est up or was Revo not uninstalling properly.

I checked in rededit before I did the reinstall and there were software entries for Office in the HKEYs for current user & local machine - so I have no idea what the heck is going on. Like I said the only thing I did not do was go online when I reinstalled!

Hiyya Noel sorry late reply - bedtime for little fellas LOL!!

Mate it has downloaded another 13 on top of that - thing is I have had this software for some time and I think half the problem M$ might be seeing it as me selling it to all and sundry as I have swapped out hard drives in my laptop and the different tester machines I have made up over time.

I was to be honest quite amazed it didn't flash up this is an illegal copy - has done in the past and the fact that I didn't go online may have been influencing the install?

The software is genuine and I use it only for myself and I suppose it is a bit like the OS being tied to the mobo so it sees it as me doing bad things. Now for $129 for a new full 2010 version I am not that stupid - like I said earlier I only use it for Word when I am typing long messages back I just back up what I am typing cos there is nothing worse than hitting the wrong key and losing a heap of typing.

Still if I have any more issues with it I'll get a 2010 version just for a peaceful life of maybe one of the freebies - I just happen to be used to and like the Microsoft app, as I have used it since my tertiary studying days. I truly am not here to rip anyone off - for $129 you would have to have a screw loose

Office 2010 is a lot simpler in terms of licensing than 2007 - for one thing, there's no such thing as an Upgrade

Office Service Packs will (I think) install regardless of Genuine-ness - and the Office Genuine Advantage program for O2k7 was retired at the beginning of last year, so it's basically irrelevant now.
Office 2010 uses a very different activation/validation methodology which is totally within Office, rather than being an extension of the Windows system.

Even if your Office is possible seen as 'over-installed' telephone activation should sort that out.

None Of The Methods Have Worked For Me

Well...I have tried ALL of the methods described on this thread and others, all to no avail.
I canNOT get Office 2007 SP3 to install...it always tells me that it has failed.
Also when I install Office 2007 it gives me 1406 errors, and I click "Ignore" and it goes through and installs anyway.
But I am wondering if something is not installing properly because of the errors I get on installation.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I have even tried making it compatible with XP SP3, but it made no difference.

I was able to install Office 2007 and SP3 properly on my Windows XP OS without any problems at all.

I have been fighting with this Office 2007 SP3 update on my Windows 7 machine for quite some time, but I canNOT seem to get it to work.
I have done everything Microsoft suggested to do plus everything everybody else has suggested.
