I have a Dell Inspiron N7110 (64-Bit) and run Windows 7 Home Premium. I was attempting to make a system repair disc, but it stops in the middle of the process with a screen that says:

System Repair Disc could not be created

The write failed because the drive returned error information that could not be recovered from (0XC0AA0301)

Any suggestions?

Need the disc for another computer

Thanks Rich46. I don't consider myself totally clueless on the computer (I've replaced hard drives, memory, other components, etc.), but I'm far from being a techie. So, I would like to have the reassurance of a disc to help boot my system in an emergency.

I'm primarily interested in a disc to see if I can get my son's Lenovo to boot. I think he's running the same OS as I am and I think it's a 64-bit, too. So, I would still like to figure out why my computer won't make a disc.

Thanks.

I will try to help, but to be sure that you do understand. Macrium will boot in an emergency. It is the best solution for almost any problem and it is free. It has saved me when I could not boot due to virus. Let me know how you want to proceed.
If you still are not interested in Macrium, you may want to try another software to burn the CD and be sure all of your software is up to date, including Windows.

I use Macrium too, highly recommended. After creating a system image backup, create a Rescue CD. I always boot to it too, to verify that it works and it can find the system image.

I also use Windows Backup & Restore, and I've searched for that error I got lots of hits but no single good solution. One suggestion was to try another CD/DVD type: -R +R RW etc. Also if you've tried a CD then try a DVD.

Try another CD.

If you cannot burn the Repair CD then you can instead burn the installation disk so that you have both repair and reinstallation ability. Step 6 in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start.

Those steps may also help get your son's Lenovo booting. Let us know if we can help further.
