can anyone help me out with this? im getting this while trying to update my bios...:

an error was encountered while trying to configure windows to allow flashing, please reboot and try again. If error continues contact technical support.

what in the hell does that mean ...

Basically it means Windows isnt allowing the update(flashing) some how

100% positive its the right BIOS update?

i will check my bios version... newest says A07 for my dell xps 400 will inform once i check it out in a few seconds here... thanks for the very quick response...

alright the version is fine except that under my system info it shows the bios date to be jan 8th and the release date for the bios update at dell.com is jan 16th.. but for some reason the its showing my version being saved under System Directory C:\Windows\system32

i currently have windows 64 bit installed
