Error in Windows 7

Hi Guys, Really need some help. I am using windows 7 and for last few days i am having multiple problem.

1. All my programs, files show as default .lnk extension and i can not set my programs to their default protocol.(Tried many options).
2. All when i try to open any exe file it shows error "no such interface supported"

What happened to cause it? did you install something, change something, etc?

Do you have a back up from before the problem started?


Do you have the win 7 Dvd?

Use System Restore to go back before the problem happened.

Not sure , yes but i was installing few tool and i had uninstalled few softwares. No i dont have a back. What should i do to solve this

I tried for system restore it does not work as it show the interface error for exe

Right clicking on the System Restore executable "C:\Windows\System32\rstrui.exe" and launching it as an administrator sometimes works (even if you are an administrator). Try it if you are stuck, you have nothing to lose.
