Error Installing Service Pack 1 Error 800B0100

Please help me I am new to this forum and have a problem in installing SP1 for windows 7, i get the error 8000100 , I have already tried the system readiness tool 2 times and all it does is install a hotfix , pls help!!!

How long ago did you install Windows 7?
Is your Windows 7 activated?
It sounds like you have tried this already, but check this link from MS and try what they suggest.

Thx for the reply , but Ive already done that , I reinstalled win7 64 bit recently and it is genuine

Sometimes, you can get SP1 to install by downloading it directly from MS, rather than relying on Windows Update.

You can get it here:

Download: Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

If you have Home Premium 64-bit, you need only the next to last file in the list:

windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe

Download and install the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT):

Download: System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [May 2012] - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

This might take quite a long time to complete. When it finishes, navigate to the following location:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

And copy and paste the contents of this log file into your next post for us please
