Hi community!
Im having a problem installing windows 7.
I got a new hard drive and stuck it in the computer then put the windows cd in but when it boots, it says no boot device available then I skip that and eventually it loads the cd but it doesnt see any hard drive there even though it shows up in bios. Am I doing something wrong? I stuck the hard drive in and it shows in bios then i turned on the computer and i get the error. It went right from the box it came to me in into the computer so it should work, this is my second hdd since the other one did the same thing.

*new HDD is a 4tb western digital black

I am pretty sure you will have to partition the drive first because Windows 7 has a problem booting from a drive partition larger than around 2.1 GB.

In addition you may need a BIOS update to handle a boot drive that large, if your PC is even able to. Check the PC or mobo's Support Downloads webpage.
