Solved Error Message "Failure configuring Windows update"

I have Win 7 ultimate. For the past few months my computer tries to download the updates and install them automatically, but it does not complete them. I get the error message as above and informs "Reverting the changes". What does this mean and how to fix this problem ?

Please try downloading and installing the KB2647753 update: Download

Once install you may have to reboot once rebooted try checking for Windows updates.

Win 7 updates

Thanks Guys. It worked in the first try. I still don't understand what the problem was. I was suffering from this problem for awhile with my computer trying to install the updates every time i boot up this machine and wasting my time. I am so glad I got the help from this form. I should have this help group long time ago. Anyway thanks a very heartfelt one. Keep up the good work.:

same issue here, but in my case I have a 32 bit system (Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits). I followed all the steps here and elsewhere but no solution. Also Windows Update gives the following failure codes:
80073712 , solution Error Code 0x80073712 occurs in Windows Update or Microsoft Update
80070002 , solution Windows Update error 80070002

Is there some specific update for the 32 bit system?

NB: my system is in Spanish, but I suppose that shouldn´t matter.
