Hi All,
Can anyone kindly advise me on how to resolve this problem?

Whenever I attempt to open and run MSO 2007, I get the error message: The Operating System is not presently configured to run this application.

I have even done a clean install in Windows7 and yet I still get this message.

Being a relative basic standard user, I wonder if it could be something to do with the way I am loading office from scratch.

My disc is damaged and keeps stopping part way through - I tried to copy a download from MSO site as I have the key, only to be informed that this is no longer valid for this version.

I then copied this MSO2007 from my wife's machine (which was my old one) - but although I now have the complete folder on my machine, I am struggling to load Office.

*There doesn't appear to be a setup file among'st the options that I see in the folder

I Would appreciate some user friendly advice please...

Regards

Try making a copy of your Office install CD. Sometimes that fixes problems like this.

Clean it first with a soft cloth and a little bit of water, nothing else.

I had a similar problem with an older version of MS Office and used their on-line support option, at no cost, and was able to resolve my problem. Visit the following link and select "Ask Microsoft" then go to your version of MS Office;

Support for Microsoft Office 2010 and 2007

Thanks for your response friends.

Ztruker - I have already done as you suggested, and very carefully, but with no joy - but many thanks for your suggestion.

Sir George - I didn't get any joy on my last visit, and am desperate to continue working on both my Greyhound dBase (which has 700 plus hounds on it) and my weekly race sheet results/entries, in order not to get too far behind.

I then decided to DL the Beta trial for 2010 and load this as an interim measure but I have now hit further problems with this.

After struggling a little navigating due to the changes - this has worked fine for a couple of hours, no problems.

But now I am getting what looks like a picture holder/drawing box (shown as a white line) on a few of the lines, and no matter what I try, I cannot get rid of them.

I have tried widening the box then cutting to get rid, and delete to get rid - but they keep coming back as though there is a setting making them auto return.

This is a brand new file in a brand new application - so I must be doing something wrong somewhere, or there is a setting playing with me?

Sorry to be such a pain - but now I have two problems (and this is only on trial) - has anyone come across this before, and if so can you help or advise please.

Thanks

NoIdeaSometimes (living up to my moniker I suppose)
