Error Message with regard to "DNS Client Events" EventID : 1012


Hi,
When I start my computer and desktop comes, there is a notification message, saying "windows could not connect to the group policy client service." So I checked whether group policy client service run using "services.msc", but it shows, it has been stoped and also I can't start the service there.
When I checked the event viewer, in the "Windows logs>>System" There is a error message something like this. "There was an error while attempting to read the local hosts file." Event ID 1012.

What is the reason for this notification message ? How to fix it ?
Please help me. Looking forward your answers.

Try using the System Restore and see if you can restore to an earlier point before the error starts popping up.

If it didn't help at all, see the link here and try the suggestions provided.
