Hi , I have a little problem and the problem is : One day was a storm and my computer shuted down several times because off power failure . Then the next day I started my computer and it said : Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key . It have been before too but enevtually came the " reboot repair " or something and many other options and I fixed it , but now it wont come , this " reboot repair " . And I can't fix it with the Windows cd too , because it wont read the cd but my CD/DVD rom is perfectly functional . And I have searched all over the internet for many hours to find what is wrong . I found many same situations but not exactly the same situation as mine , but i tried some things and i didn't wind the answer to fix that . Then I removed my HDD and with my another computers HDD and then it worked .At that point I want to know is my HDD broken or something ? Can someone help me ?Sorry when i missed something .

And sorry about my bad english .
Ty for your time !

It's possible your HD was fried due to a power surge. You can test it to determine this for certain by booting the maker's diagnostics/repair CD to run Extended Scan: HD Diagnostic

If the HD still lives, then from the Command Line on System Recovery Options run Disk Check with /f switch on each partition. The combination of these two repairs can return a HD to service indefinitely.
