Solved error opening c files

Hi all, I have on booting up after the welcome screen, a black screen for approx 1 minute then all runs well.
Recent history is: using wiki how speed up your computer, also i tried switching on and off, timing the reboot several times in quick succcesion.

I am sure i followed all the instructions to the letter with wiki and have now reversed them to see if it cures the problem. Also did a default boot up to no avail. Tried a system scan for virus, many entries of "C opening error" occur during this. Also tried Spybot this showed no problems.

I would be a very happy person if someone can point me to a probable cause

You mean...You can see the drive in my computer...But can't enter it?
Try using system restore...
If it doesn't work, I want to repeat myself....You can see the C:\ Drive but you can't enter it?
I had this issue having hijack.controlpanelstyle Which blocks the admin from accessing any path that is able to remove the hijacker itself (including C) and shows up with a message like you don't own privileges of doing the action.
Most Pros would guess there is something wrong with the registry. (did you do anything including editing, deleting,..etc)

Yes I did. It's gone beserk now. I'm on my mobile. No internet connection on computer. Been tryin to reply

Might be system restore needed. Eset has found 7 infiltrations' so far.

It is true I use eset and I love it.
Still...MBAM is way much better dealing with live infections ...Eset just prevent those from actually happening but it ain't got no good trick to fully remove it without damaging stuff (if it was quite serious)
In the installation path of MBAM you can find Chameleon.com*.exe run it and hope you get that damned hijack.controlpanelstyle
EDIT: download through your mobile or another computer and transfer data to the infected computer. (Transfer while in safe mode).
Without internet connection chameleon will fail....You'll need to just download the latest version [NOTE: you must run MBAM in normal mode not in safe mode].

supportacus, its been a trial i can say. I enlisted the help of my son using teamviewer who's job is IT, he got it fixed eventually by disabling and rebooting to find the problem. This was after much other trials, but I have two boot icons now, the old one which had the problems and a new one which works just fine so i use that. Many thanks for your interest and help.
