Hi,

I have a few issues that have found no cure for yet.

It seemed that W7 beta was running well since installed 3 days ago. Until I noticed that my Hard drive (40GB partiton) was full. Also my brother was getting mutliple disconnects while playing WoW on his PC.
When inspection, using Disk Clean-up,
I found it was error reports. 69GB of Error logs. Were being uploaded via multiple instances of wermgr.exe (seen using the performance monitor-Network tab.

Has anyone else these issues?
Maybe a work-around, fix or a way to stop Dr.Watson creating these stupidly sized logs, and then attempting to upload them.

At the moment I have to run Disk Clean-up 2-5 times a day. Which is a pain, also have to Disable the network adaptor, to stop it lagging & disconnecting my brothers WoW gaming. Until I have deleted all the Error logs.

It's funny as I didn't even know I was having all these errors until the hard-drive had been filled up with the logs.

Thanks!

I have no fix for this and I don't know if there is one, but you might consider a clean install. Perhaps something went wrong during the installation. I, for one, was once not able to create any temporary files. Because of that I could not install any application. A clean install fixed it and I didn't mind because hadn't installed anything anyway.

You can always provide a maximum log size and restrict the logs from filling your drive. Computer Management, Events, Properties. Under system tab restrict the log size and or enable overwrite on full.

Cheers for help, I looked under Computer management, but I only have Event Viewer, so I must be looking in the wrong place.
Any tips how to get to the Event system tab?

Edit: ok I found it , thank you.
I set all of the logs properties to 1028kb, the smallest you can set them too.

Thanks!

I think the error logs are coming from when I run Media Centre, for my TV card (Hauppauge HVR-1110) which doesn't work using the Hauppauge software, but does using Media Centre.

But when using it I have to disable Network adaptor, or it sends these error logs to MS, which slows the 20MB cable connection so much that my brother WoW disconnects.

Need to find a way to stop it uploading the error logs. As trying to upload gigabytes of error logs is just silly.

Yeop, I have sent feedback.

Still getting GB's of error files, that lag up our internet connection.

Limiting the log files didn't help.

I thought it might just be Media Centre, but then I havn't run it and still amassed near 11GB of error files queued up.

Might try a reinstall, although nothing has changed in the 3 days it has been installed, from a fresh install on a complete clean Hard drive.

I believe it's an installation bug...A clean install might solve it.

But check out this thread, I think they offer a solution.

Thanks for the link limneos, I turned off error reporting, and since have not had any error files to delete in Disk Cleanup, and my PC has not tried to upload the error logs, and our internet no longer suffers the lag. Great!
