I am having major problems with my Sata HDD Docking station and after doing some scouting around I discover I am not alone. It worked the first time I used it the I just get error code 43 error in Device Manager have tried all ways of obtaining a different driver but to no avail. After reading through a load of forum posts I decided to take the advice of a guy who had a similar issue with a web cam & so I powered down my laptop then took of the battery for 30secs & hey presto!! how on earth that can solve it i don't know & do I know have to do that each time I want to use it??

Well at least now I know how to get it working!:D

Sorry, but it may just be a piece of hardware that isnt "exactly" win 7 compliant. Did you do the upgrade adviser before?

It feels like the "reset" helps solve the issue. If that is the case you might want to take a look you your power profile.

Is this a laptop, running "balanced"?

Thanks for the tips but

notsograymatter - this is precisely my point the manufacturers state that it is compatible when it clearly isn't.

zigzag - Yes I am running balanced but it doe seem likely that it is a power issue if the reset works which it seems to.

Thanks for the help anyway :-(
