Greetings.
That copy is installed for about 7 months.
In the past several months it would sometimes get stuck in the win7 screen (first screen after bios) or took several minutes to load. Mostly it loaded fine.
Then recently a new problem emerged - sometimes everything gets stuck for a while then comes back to life (or sometimes doesn`t). Whether in game (wic) or not. Whether the cpu is 100% or not. The sound usually gets stuck with it on an intense noise.
From time to time it got me a blue screen with an error and started scan disk. It also started scan disk sometimes after pressing the `reset` button (when completely stuck).
Today windows didn`t load at all and gave me that screen :

Iv`e tryed to follow the steps but to no avail.
I have a suspect - my WD1000GB HD or connections or the `artificial` SATA drive I have installed it with. This is beacause when stuck I touched the SATA wire and it seemed to help unfreeze. Also it would sometime not detect the HD from BIOS or ask for a proper boot device but usually solved just by restarting.
It`s a Pentium4 3.0, Asus P5RD1-VM, 1024MB DDR2. Windows Ultimate N.
Great thanks for any help,
ZKR
By the way, I run XP on the old HD on the PC and it`s quite fine.
Any suggestions please?
