Hello,

Since a few days i have these weird errors in my eventviewer containing the ESENT 489 error.
Full error:
C:\Users\loginname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\WebCacheV01.dat" for read only access failed with system error 32 (0x00000020): "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process". The open file operation will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).

i tried googeling and could not find any usefull information about this error.
I am just wondering if this is something serious or can i just leave it since its not important.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Seven Forums Raigara. Such errors can occur if your security programs were scanning the file when it was trying to be accessed. Or a backup program was running, causing the same issue. Here is a good explanation, and some possibilities for the issue.

Source: ESENT Event ID: 489 (Windows Operating System 5.2) - Technet Events And Errors Message Center: Message Details

I would also navigate to

C:\Users\loginname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache\WebCacheV01.dat

and confirm the files still resides in that location.

To be honest, upload the file WebCacheV01.dat to Virus Total , if it comes out clean, I wouldn't worry about it ;)

i tried that but the file is in use by taskhost all the time so can't scan it. guess it is not a big problem anyway since it does not pop up all the time i boot up my PC. Only like 1 in 7 times orso.
I was just wondering what the file was and if it did any damage to my PC if it could not be read.
Thanks for the fast reply.

No problem. People who look through their event log will find errors on the best running system, Windows isn't happy unless it has some issue, lol. A Guy
