Pics show the error.

Claims a hardware error. Has trouble writing to these log files.

How can I delete these log files, maybe they are damaged?
How to fix, the PC when this happens is useless until you turn off the power, nothing responds.

This has happened many times over months of use.

windows - Stopping Microsoft Search from eating my hard drive - Super User

followed the instructions, ad it kept saying file was open in windows search. So I stopped the service again eve though it said was stopped. Quickly went to the file of windows.edb 1.3gb in size to rename to eee.edb from windows.edb, when I did this, the entire windows explorer page closed for this entry, and went to the next higher level. So I reopened the folder, and there was no eee.edb file, there is now a tmp.edb of 8mb and a file called windows.edb of 1 mb.

And if I try to again rename windows.edb it says it is open in windows search, and the file tmp.edb I can not delete saying it is open in windows search. I did not restart the windows search service.

So what happened ?

It looks like this service will restart itself. It is currently running again and has built a file of 78mb in size. So if you stop it, you only have a short time to modify the logfile. MS has a stupid error message that tells you the hardware is defective, but it is their logfile that becomes too big and hard to write onto and so it is the software that is defective.

But they will say, your hardware is defective because it is too old and slow. So a 1 gb SATA II drive they will tell you is obsolete.
