Warning: If you get a call from ETalentNetwork, HANG UP THE PHONE!

I believe that ETalentNetwork is not a legitimate recruiting agency. They are nothing more than a robo-call center, a "sweatshop".

I received a call a couple of weeks ago from ETalentNetwork. They told me about a position locally where I live, and for which I would be paid about half of what I am currently making. I told them, Thanks but no thanks, because I don't want to take a huge pay cut like that.

Since that time, ETalentNetwork has called me numerous times, each time telling me about the EXACT SAME JOB at the EXACT SAME RATE OF PAY. I tell them I'm not interested, because I don't want to take a big pay cut. Yet they keep calling.

I have asked them to quit calling me, to take my name out of their database; yet they keep calling me again and again about the same job at the same pay rate.

Be forewarned!

They just won't quit! They've called me twice this morning! I called the first guy back and told him to tell his boss to leave me alone and quit calling me; then they called me AGAIN!

I've reported all of these calls on the Do Not Call website - my phone number has been on the Do Not Call list since 2013.

Three more calls today from ETalentNetwork within an 11-minute time period, and three more reports about them on the Do Not Call website.

Hi Jim,

I feel your pain. I've been on the donotcall.gov list since July 2003 and reported calls to no avail, I do believe that the complaints are investigated but I've never received any feedback about them.

Most telemarketers have their routines down to a system of only using certain numbers that they call from and then rotating those numbers with new ones, they also use autodialers and spoof the numbers they call from and when they reach their time limit they move on to fresh pastures.
The best thing a person can do is have caller ID and not answer any call that either you don't recognize the name or the phone number, if it is a legitimate call the caller will leave a message that you can then return, as you have found out the worst thing you can do is answer the call, once you do that the spammers know your number is legitimate.

The feds, and local governments are finally starting to put some teeth in telecommunication laws and now phone companies are stepping up to police their systems.

It depends on your phone system but the best thing that happened to me is https://www.nomorobo.com/ I still get calls but I only pay attention to them if they ring more than once their the good calls the bad ones only ring once and I never see them on caller ID.

   Note
I have no affiliation with nomorerobo except for the fact that I use their product.

Anak:

Thanks for the information about nomorerobo.

ETalentNetwork always seems to use the same two numbers - a toll-free number, and a 703 area code number. I have blocked both with Verizon. I put the block on this past Friday, so let's see what happens this week.

I also have them on silent ring on my phone -- all I hear is a beep after the call has been terminated.

I am also telling people about them on sites like this one, plus on Facebook. ETalentNetwork recruits IT people; and IT people hang out on these sites; so hopefully the word is spreading among IT people that they should avoid ETalentNetwork. I am also telling my coworkers -- network engineers, IT security folks, SQL database people, etc. In short, ETalentNetwork is getting a bad reputation among the people they would want to recruit.

I told one of their "recruiters" that if they wanted me to stop talking about them, they need to cease all contact with me. Then eventually I will forget about them and quit talking about them. But everytime they call me, my desire is renewed to spread the word about them even farther.

Jim

You're welcome.

I'm not sure what flavor of Vz service you have but we're on Vz Fios triple play and they made it easy to work with NMR (nomorerobo): Stop unwanted calls The page looks better if you're logged-in.
The only thing I had to do is sign up with NMR, put NMR's number first on the list for simultaneous calling and click on the NMR link of my service page to let Vz know I was signed up, ever since then it's been blissful we haven't even had that single ring for weeks. Had you noticed on the NMR homepage there are also apps for iOS and Android cell phones?

It isn't open yet but if you go to the Stop unwanted calls link and click on the + to the right of the Spam Alerts section there's a link at the bottom right to report any calls; Bad ones that are getting through or good ones that are not, you know, blacklist - whitelist. As for the Spam - Spam? alert showing up on our caller ID, we haven't seen that yet.

I was going to mention ETalent earlier but it didn't seem to fit; It does seem to be a good idea as a job locating service, but they should only contact people that sign up for their service not just canvass a broad area with unsolicited calls. To me it sounds like their not watching over the people their sub-contracting to do their calls and then they probably also have a quota for so many calls a day so what's the sub to do? Use an auto-dialer? That's where the abuse creeps in. btw..If caught the sub and maybe ETalent for allowing them can be prosecuted for using them. You won't see any money but that's okay, I'll take the blissfulness.

I remember a time when phones were a luxury, now their just a damn nuisance.

Steve

My guess is that ETalentNetwork saw my resume on line and decided to call me. So I don't fault them for the initial call. But I do fault them for all of the subsequent calls, after I told them I wasn't interested in the position. Especially when I told them that the new position would mean a huge pay cut for me. Most people would understand why I'm not interested, but not ETalent Network. That is why I think they are a "sweatshop", nothing more.

I use Verizon cell phone service, not in-home service.
